Edward grew up in New York City with parents who supported all of his musical pursuits (even when he decided that playing drums sounded like fun). His musical career began in first grade with piano lessons, then drums in fifth grade, and finally bass in seventh grade. Having a background with piano and drums provided an ideal foundation to learn to be a thoughtful bass player. Edward studied bass with Stefan Held, played in all of the jazz bands in high school, and gigged around New York with soul/funk band The Adam Morgan Band.
Edward studied Advertising at Boston University and spent one year performing with the Boston University Big Band and some smaller combos, then graduated in 2012. Towards the end of college he decided to pursue music professionally and began playing with Matt Koelsch and a few other Boston-based artists.
Edward moved to Los Angeles in 2014 and has been performing and recording with a number of artists ever since.
“Ed has a developed ear and chops as an accompanying bass player who can add full bodied textures, while laying the groundwork for the music at hand. Ed has the ability to learn songs quickly, bring new ideas to the studio, and add tasteful bass lines to propel the music forward while keeping the tunes sounding fresh on stage.”
“Fat sound, solid grooves, tasty fills, and one of the nicest guys you will ever meet!”
